John 8:12

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Change is Necessary.

What would happen if we didn’t desire change? Would stay in school forever or would we graduate into something new?

So many times, we get stuck in our comfort zone, afraid to change. Too scared to explore other possibilities. And some times, we are not willing to ask for support or even receive support during this changing phase of life.

I had a very wise friend who told me once after discussing what if we left our current place of employment and struck out on our own… She said, ” Change can be hard. Change can also be good. However, change is always necessary.” I’ll never forget those words. It made me think what am I really praying for?

If we’re praying for God to use us as a beacon of hope for His kingdom, then, of course, we are going to have to change.

That also means we get to heal His way. We get to fellowship with other believers that may have an encouraging supportive word that you’re looking for.  And we get to explore the direction that He takes us.

This time of the year when school starts back up, it’s a great way to gauge our own progress. If we were still in a traditional school, we would be in the 28th grade, 38th grade, 48th grade, etc. (you get the picture) And we would have to review what we learned last school year. So what have you learned so far this year?

Have you learned that we all have a season? Sometimes our seasons are to take care of other people. Sometimes our seasons are to take care of ourselves. Sometimes our seasons are all about changing, growing, learning, giving, accepting and receiving. Sometimes our season is about what we are really praying for.

“Ask, and it will be given to you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened for you.” Matthew 7:7

The above verse really speaks to me on a deeper level. It starts with A.S.K.… Which it itself means something significant to me.

Ask- for how God wants to use you and the things that you’ve been through to positively impact others.

Seek- support and you will find people to help you along the way. They will be excited to see you thrive, grow and develop as you change into something more than you could ever imagine.

Knock- on every single door of opportunity. We never know who we’re going to meet that may have the missing key to unlock the door to our new idea that could change the trajectory of our life, our business, our spiritual growth.

Sometimes we have to seek to change the people we associate with in order to meet new connections that will propel us forward, get different perspectives on things and perhaps, we will even make a new friend who becomes part of our support system.

If we were not meant to change, we’d still be in kindergarten. And thank goodness, we’re not!

May you A.S.K.for the changes in your life. May you be blessed with opportunities to be a support for others as well as receive support. May you have the knowledge that you’re doing exactly how God wants to use your life as an example for others. May you change in such a way that you are a beacon of hope for His glory.
