Hello, Altered Stories Ministry Family,
As I write, today is the observed Veterans Day.
Veterans Day is a day where we give thanks to everyone who served in our military. This reminds me of a show I have watched called Seal Team. It’s about a team of Navy seals who went through a lot in the mist of their operations both personally, and professionally. There are also the blowing things up factor, so it turned out to be a good show even though at times it did make me cry. I left this show thankful for what the men and woman in the Armed Forces did to protect us and the freedoms we have.
John 15:13 NIV “There is no greater love than to lay down one’s love for one’s friends.”
Yet, as thankful as we are for our own freedoms and those who defend them, if you are a follower of Christ there is an even better freedom that we have. That freedom is the freedom from the power of Sin.
You see once you become a believer, you are free from the consequence of Sin. You are being made free from the power of Sin, and one day, you will be free from the very presence of Sin. Because the grave has no power over you, because of Christ’s death on the cross.
So, today give thanks for those who serve in our military, but even more give thanks to God who died, to give us eternal freedom.
God Bless,
Teresa
