Hello, Altered Stories Family,
This month is Women’s History Month. There are plenty of women I could highlight, but there is one who comes to mind from the Scriptures, you may not know about.
In the book of I Samuel, the story opens with a woman who has had a hard life, as she cannot have a child. It’s the story of Hannah. At one point, she is found in the temple, praying silently. A priest finds her, and thinks she’s come to the altar drunk. This woman explains that no, she is just asking that God give her a son. The priest understands what is going on and he gives her a blessing and sends her on her way.
This woman becomes the mother of Samuel, the prophet, who would anoint David as king. He was also instrumental in Israel’s history.
There are many other women I could name both in Scriptures and in church history, who have not just led a well-meaning and Christ centered life and have left a legacy for years to come.
If you are a woman reading this, I ask you this, what kind of legacy will you leave? What has God laid on your heart to accomplish, because you are born for such a time as this, Esther 4:14 says and the Lord has a plan for your life, that only you can do.
I encourage you to look up the stories in the Bible of Esther, Deborah and the women who our Lord appeared to first after he was risen from the dead.
If you don’t know the calling that the Lord has for you, take some time to pray, and ask the Lord.
He will answer you.
God bless,
Teresa
