Hello, Altered Stories Family,
I want to take a moment to talk about a Holy day that we all know and love, Thanksgiving. For some this is a day to eat turkey, watch a football game or two, and spend time with family.
Yet, what is the day about? After your all stuffed with turkey, dressing and the fixings, do you ever just sit back, and reflect on how good God has been to you?
Because that we have lots of reasons to be truly thankful. If you’re breathing, you have a reason to be thankful. If you have your family around you, you have a reason to be thankful.
The Bible says that we are to give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, and his love endures forever. Psalm 118:1
Now if I may, I’d like to offer an example of why I am thankful to the Lord. You see someone I love dearly has just come to the Lord and gotten clean off drugs. God has completely turned their life around.
It just goes to show, don’t give up on prayer, and when God moves, be thankful for his action.
If you are reading this, and you are not a follower of Christ, then you also have a reason to be thankful, because you still have a chance to fix your situation.
You see, God made a way for you when there was no way, he died on the cross for your Sin, so that you could live forever with him.
How do you make this happen?
It is as simple as A B C:
Admit that you are a Sinner, in need of God’s Grace, and you cannot be good enough to get into Heaven on your own.
Believe that God is who he says he is, and that Jesus came to pay the penalty for your Sin. He died on the Cross, and rose again on the third day, and ascended into heaven. He will return soon in bodily form, to set up his Kingdom.
Confess him as savior and Lord of your life. Tell someone that you’ve received Christ and are a follower of his.
That’s it, A, B, C.
If you do this, you are a child of God, and are saved. You have the biggest reason to be thankful of all this thanksgiving.
