- She is celebrating being 12 years clean from drugs. She could not have done it without God’s intervention. Just because the hard part of her story happened twelve years ago, doesn’t mean that it doesn’t impact people today.
- Mindy is the Connections director and serves as a leader on the Women’s Ministry team at her church. She loves to serve and lead others.
- Mindy shares her “From Sin to Surrender” God story.
- The summer before seventh grade, she started running with the wrong crowd. She was raped in her home. She had a rough year, but started getting her life back on track later that year. She started dating her ex-husband in 1997, and they got married in 2000. In 2002 and 2004, they had their daughter and son, and postpartum hit her very hard, and she wanted to drink and party nonstop.
- In 2008, she moved out and left her family. She went through several abusive relationships. During those two years of abandoning her children, being homeless, and in the throes of drugs, addiction, and abuse, she prayed more during that time of darkness than she had at any point in her life up to that time.
- Now, 12 years later, she has been married to her husband for eight years. They have six kids between them, and three more grandbabies are on the way.
- Surrender is a journey and a daily heart posture we have to take.
