Hello, Altered Stories Ministry Family,

We are entering the season where we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord. For Christians this begins with the start of Holy week.

For those who celebrate Passover, we see a time of coming out of slavery. I believe this is a time when we need to examine ourselves and see where we are still living in chains, what still holds us captive even through the cross we are offered gives us freedom?

In John 8:36, Jesus says, “if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”

The problem is that most times we don’t live like we are free indeed. We speak about it, we share it with others, but in our own lives we do not walk as though we are free.

This season let’s take an inventory of ourselves. Where are we still living in chains? Where have we still not let the freedom of Christ have way in our lives?

Christ is risen from the dead and we can indeed walk in the freedom he gives us.

As you celebrate the resurrection of Jesus, look to the cross, the payment he made for our sin, and smile knowing that because He is risen from the dead we can indeed walk in the freedom he gives us.
