Hello, Altered Stories Ministry Family,

We are on the cusp of celebrating Mother’s Day. This may bring mixed feelings for many readers. For some, this is a day of joy as you recall the mom God gave you. For others, this may be a harder day, because the relationship you have with your mother was not grounded in Godly principles.

Let me first say this, if your relationship with your mother was at the least rocky, I’m sorry, and I pray God heals you of the pain this caused.

Please see this scripture as a note for you from our Lord Isaiah 66:13 (NLT) “I will comfort you there in Jerusalem as a mother comforts her child.”

God wants to meet you in that pain and bring comfort.

A mother as detailed in the scriptures looks like this Proverbs 31:25–28 (NLT) “She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future. When she speaks, her words are wise, and she gives instructions with kindness… Her children stand and bless her.”

1 Corinthians 13:4 7 (NLT) “Love is patient and kind… It never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”

Let’s face it, as a mom myself, I can seriously use some work on these verses, because I do not act as a Christian mom should all the time.

I do, however, believe that this is a thing I can do by God’s grace.

I hope this has been helpful to you and what I shared encouraged you. I also wish those of you that are a mom a very Happy Mother’s Day.

God bless,

Teresa
