In this Episode:
Ellen shares her anorexia God story. As a high-achieving teenager — on the pep squad, dance team, and honor roll — a careless comment from a boyfriend planted a seed of insecurity that grew into a dangerous hidden struggle with anorexia. She dropped to 78 pounds before her parents took her to a doctor, but the real healing didn't come from a prescription. God intervened directly, speaking to her about her hidden sin and beginning a miraculous healing — one she almost didn't want to receive.
Ellen shares how God healed her on His terms: not by removing her desire to be thin, but by redirecting it. He told her that if she ate right and exercised, she could be healthy and thin — and He knew her well enough to know she needed that pathway.
She addresses mothers directly: your words shape your children's relationship with their bodies. She advises against scales, harsh comments about weight, and modeling unhealthy eating patterns — and emphasizes building children's self-confidence and inner beauty from a young age.
Ellen also shares her salvation journey — how a dream of Jesus speaking to her in a cookie bowl prepared her heart before a charismatic prayer group confirmed it through Scripture, leading to her deep conversion and decades of ministry.
She shares the story of giving away her diamond ring as a vow to God — that if her husband Pat followed Jesus, she would give it away. That same year, Pat came to faith. Her reflection: "Diamonds aren't forever. Jesus is forever."
A survivor, she says, is not someone who avoids trials — it's someone who gets back up every day and says, "Lord, here I am," and together climbs that mountain.
