Hello, Altered Stories Ministry Family,

We are now in June, and it is officially summer. June is a month filled with fun and family outings. Yet, this month biblically has a richer deeper meaning.

In Hebrew, this is the month of Sivan which is the third month in the Hebrew new year, The standout biblical event tied to Sivan is the giving of the Torah (the Law) at Mount Sinai widely understood to have occurred on the 6th of Sivan, which is the date of Shavuot (the Feast of Weeks / Pentecost).

This relates to the new covenant because the Holy Spirit fell down on the disciples on the day of Shavuot. For many this is a time of reflection, fresh instruction, and empowerment as we reflect on God’s word. This is a time to prepare your heart to hear from God, recommit to his word, so you can more fully walk in the calling he has for you and to be holy and set apart for him.

I hope that as you read this, it gives you a little more insight into the giving of the word, and how we as new covenant believers can live now.
