John 8:12

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

“God’s in the business of suddenly(s)”

The quote above was told to me about 12 years ago before I quit my job and started my own business. I was telling a friend how there is no way I could get a business up and running in a matter of 6 weeks. I had to get everything behind the scenes of my job because if they had found out, they would have fired myself and my business partner as well.

It all worked out the way God intended it. I have been successful for these 12 years.

And another time that was a suddenly on my life is how he removed me from an abusive 12 year relationship. I had started off praying for my boyfriend and for him to heal.  Then one day it clicked to pray for me and ask for me to heal. I started to daydream about what life will look like being on my own. I started praying for those dreams and goals. My life has shifted and changed so much since that when I recount my life back then, it’s like recalling a movie I watched. It doesn’t belong to me anymore.

It’s too long of a storyline to recount here, so I’ll say this. God literally removed me in a way that was completely unexpected and completely suddenly. This happened in such a way that I knew I had a second chance at this life.

Is there something that you are desiring for God to turn your situation around suddenly?

Is there something that you are afraid to ask God for?

Is there that so big that you’re not willing to go to him and prayer and ask for His will to be done?

Sometimes, we hold back from praying about certain things because we think it’s selfish to pray for that when there are so many people who “really” need prayer. You can pray them while still praying for yourself.

Listen, God wants us to go to Him with absolutely everything! Your hopes, your dreams, your desires, wishes, goals, future endeavors as well as your downtimes. He’s not just there when you’re going through a rough patch, He’s there….always. As a parent wants to hear the details from their children, God wants to hear the details of our deepest desires from us. He can’t wait to give you a suddenly!

If we wait for the bad times to reach out then we become that friend who only talks about the negatives and the drama in our lives. When we go to him and ask how does He want our day to go, we get to rest in trusting His direction. That gives us opportunities to be examples of His work through us since we allowed His work to be in us. The more we trust, the more we align in His purpose for our life.

Trusting God to fullfill your suddenly is a gift you can give yourself.

May you practice praying for those deepest desires of your heart and let go worry or concerns about it. May you practice letting go of your time line and let God to take over in His time. May you be open to all the opportunities of suddenly(s) waiting for you to ask for it.
