Hello, Altered Stories Family,
For some of you, the Holiday season may not be your favorite time of year. Maybe, you’ve recently lost your job or you are dealing with the passing of a family member or maybe you’re just not a fan of the holidays for whatever reason, and you are struggling with putting on a happy face.
Believe me, when I say you are not alone in this struggle. I, for one, am not a fan of the season. I know there’s a lot of good that comes out of it; we celebrate Yeshua Jesus birth, whether through Hanukkah in my case or Christmas.
Let me offer you a little bit of encouragement. Do not be afraid to take some time and feel whatever it is you’re feeling. Do not be scared to admit that you are not doing your best, but you are trying.
Remember that our Lord sees everything and knows exactly what you’re going through. You can trust him with everything, run to him, find your shelter and him, for he is a faithful friend that is closer than a brother.
If you need to talk to someone, find someone you trust and tell them that you’re having a hard time with the Holiday season because of whatever it is that’s causing you to struggle. Be honest with them, and if you do these things, you will find that you can make it through the holidays.
Remember, it doesn’t last forever; our hope it’s not in the days that we celebrate, but our hope is in the Lord, and there is one day when there will be no more crying, no more pain, no more death or tears, no more suffering!
Remember that our Lord said we would have trouble, but to rejoice because he has overcome the world. John 16:33 (KJV) “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
I hope this helps you.
God Bless,
Teresa
