Kate is the author of “The After Party of the Empty Nest” and “Growing Great Kids” and a contributing writer to many publications, including Guideposts. She lives in Franklin, Tennessee, and is the mom of Francesca Battistelli, a well-known and gifted contemporary Christian recording artist, and a Grandma to seven precious grandchildren.
Kate shares her life-changing experience as a young understudy actress to starring as Anna in the Broadway National Tour of The King and I opposite well well-known actor, Yul Brynner. She further shares how God called her and her husband out of their acting careers in NYC to a life of homeschooling and a home business, and later in life to an unexpected career as an author, podcaster, and speaker.

- Kate shares her “A Beginning Not an End” God story.
- She was a struggling actress in New York City. She got the part to be an understudy actress as Anna in the Broadway National Tour of The King. About two months in, the leading lady was sick, and Kate was on.
- She also met her husband at the show. After they were married, they met a Jewish woman, and she continued to invite them to church. They finally went one Friday night, and they both went forward and met the Lord that night.
- After having their daughter, they believed the Lord was asking them to lay down their careers. Their ceiling became their daughter’s floor.
- Kate and her husband came up with 15 things they intentionally did when raising their daughter. After sharing them with other families, Kate felt God calling her to write a book, and he equipped her along the way.
- God dares us to do something crazy and difficult that we can’t do on our own.
- We have a purpose. Our job as empty nest moms and dads is to pray and find out what that is. It might not be a big thing. Even the little things are important.
- Your biggest weapon is prayer. Prayer is going to get you through. God knows your child. Trust that He is going after them.
