Enjoy listening to this episode as you celebrate the reason for the season!

In this Episode:

  • Today, Mischelle is joined by a few Altered Stories Ministry board members, Sandy Williams, Board VP, and Sara Davenport, Board Spiritual Director. We are going to be talking about keeping Christ in Christmas.
  • The letters CHR in the word Christmas help us keep centered on the meaning of the holiday and emphasize Jesus’ identity as the holy and anointed Son of God born of our salvation.
  • This Christmas, let’s remember to keep Christ in Christmas by simplifying our materialism, focusing on giving, attending church services, setting up nativity scenes, singing Christmas carols, baking a birthday cake for Jesus, and reading the Christmas story from the Bible.
  • When we come to the I, we get to intercession. Intercession from Christ our King for our sins.
    • S is for the brightest star that led the wise men on their way. The Christmas star symbolizes the Star of Bethlehem, which guided the three kings to the baby Jesus.
    • T stands for the treasured baby that God sent us that day. Baby Jesus represents God in the flesh, redeeming humanity by fulfilling the prophecy.
    • The letter M proclaims the meaning of Jesus’ birth. Jesus’ Birth is the promise of God to be with us and walk among us.
    • A stands for Jesus’ atonement that saves those who believe. Jesus came willingly from the Father to take upon himself the sins of man and give His own life to reconcile believers to the Creator.
    • S stands for God’s greatest sacrifice, His son’s life for you and me.
    • Let’s take time to celebrate what Christmas truly means and how deeply our heavenly Father loves us.
