In this Episode, I interview special guest, Kristen Strong, a gifted author of several life-changing books, including her latest release, “Desperate Woman Seeks Friends”, as well as “Girl Meets Change and When Change Finds You”, and the uplifting 90-day devotional, “Praying Through Loneliness”. Kristen and her husband, David, a proud US Air Force veteran, are blessed with three wonderful adult children and live in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In our heartfelt conversation, Kristen shares her profoundly inspiring God Story, “How Jesus Taught me to be a Friend” about her journey of her friendships and how she stopped acting desperate and became healthier as her relationship with Jesus became stronger and she allowed him to fill her emotional voids. In closing, she shares encouragement based on scripture truth in helping women as they navigate the challenges of relationship changes. This episode additionally includes a mental health tip from ministry partner and licensed mental health counselor, Sherrie Pucket.

  • Kristen shares their “How Jesus Taught Me to Be a Friend” God story.
  • She went from knowing everybody in a small town in Oklahoma to knowing nobody in a larger town. That was really hard for her. She knew she needed friends, but she had no idea how to make them.
  • Meeting with the Lord every day is imperative. The best way for me to be a friend to others is to work on my friendship with Jesus.
  • When a friendship changes, it is not always about us. It is often about the other person and what they are going through, their insecurities, and their bandwidth.
  • Jesus did not put up with everything that everybody threw at Him. He was intentional with picking His 12 disciples.
  • You need reciprocal friendships, but we also go through busy seasons, so we need to show grace during those times.
  • We are called to walk this earth with friends. You need your people. Partner with the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to who would be a good friend.
