John 8:12

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Hello, Altered Stories Ministry Family,

Today, is World Mental Health Day. As I reflect on this, I want to bring something to light that is sometimes very hard to do, but very much needed.

In James 5:16 NIV, the Bible says Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”

I am learning the true power of this verse, because sometimes, the act of just sharing something with someone you have been carrying is freeing. Maybe, there is a sin you have been wrestling with, maybe, you have a thought pattern that you think if anyone knew, would drive people away from you? Yet, what if that were not true? What if in revealing your deepest fear to someone, there was a moment of healing?

I’m not saying to share it with everyone, this must be someone that you truly trust. This must be someone you know won’t take you apart, but will respond in love, and will pray for you. In the act of doing this, your mental health and your headspace will be so much better.

I hope you are able to find that person that you can trust. I hope that you can bring your struggles to God and then ask someone to walk with you through them. I am finding this to be true, and I am finding an incredible release in walking through this.

I hope that You find that peace that Scripture talks about, a peace that in Hebrew means not just a feeling of contentment, or rest, but also wholeness.

God Bless,

Teresa
