Hello, Altered Stories family,
What do you do when facing a situation that angers you? Whether it is a righteous anger or not, the feeling is legitimate. What do you do with it?
The Bible tells us in Ephesians 4:26, “Be angry, and do not sin, do not let the sun go down on your wrath.” (NKJV). God’s Word also tells us in Proverbs 15:1, “A soft answer turns away wrath…” (NKJV).
My family is going through something that is not right. This situation is bringing up past hurts and anger to the surface. Plus, it is adding new issues that are very frustrating; however, we have a choice. we could react in hostility, or we can respond in humility and peace.
I don’t know what issues you are facing now or hurts you experienced in the past, but I encourage you to continue to lay your anger down before the Lord. Trust me, His holy anger is more powerful, and He will deal with whatever has hurt you, or those you love.
He does say in Romans 12:19, “’Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,’ says the Lord” (NKJV). (See also Deuteronomy 32:35 and Proverbs 20:22).
I would also suggest listening to praise and worship music and ask the Lord to give you a peace that passes all understanding.
If you are still struggling to lay it down before the Lord, I would find someone you can talk to, a good friend, close family member you trust, or your Pastor. Don’t hang on to it.
I hope these words encourage you.
God Bless,
Teresa
