Hello Altered Stories Family,
This week I come with a reminder, something the Lord has been reminding me of in a few ways. As we move into October and have changed into Fall, now more than ever we must not take our eye off the ball.
The Bible says that our enemy, the Devil walks around like a wearing lion seeking who he can devour. 1 Peter 5:8.
The month that we are about to enter brings a lot of darkness, but we, as King’s kids can bring the light with that darkness. I won’t get into what I know is done in October. I will save that for another post, but we must keep our eyes on Christ and our ears alert, because the enemy will use our lapses in alertness to hit us in our weak points.
Just last night, I was reminded of this as Mike and I were praying. I know that Spiritual warfare is a touchy topic, but we must understand it and engage in it, now more than ever because whether we like it or not we are in a war. If we are not aware of what is happening around us and others, we will find that we are blinded.
Our Lord doesn’t want that for us; he calls us to walk in his Kingdom, bringing his light to even the darkest of places. An excellent example of this was Cory Ten Boom, who famously wrote the Hiding Place, a story set back in WWII. She shared God’s love with any who would listen, even in one of the darkest places you can think of, a Nazi concentration camp. Ten Boom famously said, “There is no pit too deep, that God is not deeper still.”
So how are you holding up with all the crazy things going on around us and in this world? Are you still alert and listening for God’s voice? I do hope so. Because in the end, the more things change, the more they stay the same and no matter how much darkness we encounter, we have the privilege of bringing his light.
God bless,
Teresa
