In this Episode, I interview former Episode 72 guest and women’s ministry friend, Ellen Mongan.  Ellen is the host of three podcasts, writer, speaker and published author of three books.  She is a wife of 48 years, Mom of 7 children and a baby in heaven.  In our authentic conversation, Ellen shares her journey to God’s heart God story part 2, which also prompted her to write her book, “4 For the Mountaintop”.  She also shares how important it is for our mental health to remove our masks and to be open with one another about our struggles.  She shares how she did that at a mountaintop retreat with 3 lifelong friends who grew together in their faith and as Sisters in Christ.

In This Episode:

  • Ellen is the host of three podcasts, writer, speaker, and published author of three books.
  • God works all things together for good for those who love him and are called for his purpose.
  • We have to first know God before we love him. Then once you love him, you know you can trust him, and then after you know, love, and trust him he calls you to serve him.
  • Ellen shares about her three podcasts. God called her to start her podcasts during the pandemic.
  • If your life is full, ask God what he wants you to take off. Live in his spirit.
  • Ellen shares her “4 For the Mountain Top” God Story Part 2.
  • We put on masks to make people think we are a certain way. With her friends, they were able to take off their masks and share each other’s burdens.
  • People need people. We all have a lonely heart and only God can fill that. God’s best is to be around people.
  • It is a beautiful thing to go from just friends to sisters and friends.
  • You have to have your network of caring people that you can trust with your heart.
  • Be yourself. Learn to get close to God because he changes you as you spend time with him.
  • Go to the Lord and ask him to pick the friends you should have that will walk with you in the hard times and pray for you the whole way.
  • You have to find people that will be the arms of Christ to you when you need it most.
  • Ellen’s book 4 for the Mountain is a book and a Bible study.
  • Your gifts evolve. Everyone has a different gift.
