For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16 (NKJV)

Hello Altered Stories Family,

We have entered February where love is often spoken of. In that spirit, I want to shift our eyes to the one who is the author of love.

Let me first begin with a story.

When I was 10 years old, I had to face one of the hardest surgeries I had ever endured. It was the removal of my left eye. At the time, there was a man who was hanging around, who turned out to be the man I would later call Dad.

It did not start out that way at first. In fact, my Mom kept trying to run him off. However, when I was staying in the Ronald McDonald house recovering from the surgery, he came to check on me. He took an interest in my health.

This began a long journey for our family and finally my Mom began to accept that Bryan loved her, and slowly I discovered that he loved me as well.

This is an example of how God the Father feels about us. In fact, in the Old Testament, we see example after example of his heart break when his people would turn away to worship other gods. He would equate it to spiritual adultery.

The question is why did he feel so strongly?

The answer is so simple and yet so profound because the King of Kings and Lord of Lords loves us so deeply, and so thoroughly. He calls himself the bridegroom and those who follow him his bride.

We see this reference laid out in the book of Revelation, when he is knocking at the door of the church in Revelations Chapter Three. I encourage you to learn more about the Jewish wedding feast and see if that lines up with what we see in this well known chapter.

When we share our love with someone, it also shows the very heart of God. This will never change and the more we learn about him and get to know him, the more in awe we will be of him.

Let me encourage you, if you do not know the one who is the very lover of your soul, then now is the best time to fix that. He loves you so much.

I do not believe I could even put into words the depth of the love of God for you, no matter where you find yourself. He took your punishment on himself on the cross. The Lord, Yeshua Jesus Christ took your sin and paid the price for it, so you would not have to face that judgment. If that is not love, I do not know what is.

I hope if you are reading this, that you will start the relationship our Lord offers freely. All it takes is one step to admit you are a sinner and believe that he died on the cross for you, that he rose again, and that he is coming back in clouds and in glory. Confess that he is Lord and that you believe in him fully.

That is, it. If you have done that, then you are among the family of God. Congrats and welcome home!

If you are already a believer, take the time to thank God for his love and ask him to show you himself in a new way and trust me he will. It is too easy for us to become stagnant and our Lord does not want that for his bride. Therefore, he warned against forgetting our first love.

If you have fallen into that state, repent, and return to him, and fall in love with the lover of your soul all over again.

I hope this helps.

God bless,
Teresa
