For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.  Jeremiah 29:11

Hello Altered Stories Ministry Family,

As I write our country is greatly divided.  Half of the country believes the elections that we just had were fraudulent, the other half is cheering that their candidate won.

On top of this, we still have Covid-19 issues to deal with and we are dealing with the fall out of an attack on our nation’s capital.

Needless to say, these are all reasons you might not have peace and rest.

I get it, believe me, there were times over this past week I wanted to throw something at the screen, even throw my phone itself because I was so angry.

Yet is that the way Yeshua Jesus wants us to live, or has he called us to be at peace with all men and to find our rest in him? I know it is so much easier said than done, but no one ever said that this walk was easy.

No, Yeshua Jesus said that we should take up our cross and follow him. This means that when the world is crazy and descending into madness, we are to be at peace and rest.

Here are a few tips for being at peace.  First, you have to have peace with God, before you can have the peace of God. This means that you need to be a follower of Christ. If you are not, now would be a real good time to start that path.

Second, every morning and every night you need to pray and put on your armor. There is peace when you know you are resting in the hand of God, under his protection.

Third, when you wake in the morning, give God the first fruits of your day which means spending time with him in prayer and in his word. Believe me, there is a massive difference when you start the day with God rather than when you do not.

Finally, when you are in prayer, ask God to fill you with his peace. This way no matter what happens, you know that you can handle it, because he is with you.

Yeshua Jesus said my peace I give to you, my peace I leave with you, not as the world gives.

One final thing and trust me this has been a lifesaver.  Remember that we were given 6 days to work and one day of complete rest. There is something to be said for laying everything down once a week and just using that time to recharge and even catch a nap or two.

I encourage you to spend time with the Lord, talk to him and you will find you are ready to hit the ground running going into the coming week.  I can’t tell you how much this has been a rescue for my family.  We so look forward to our Shabbat rest.

I will leave you with this one last thing.  Remember as Christians this is not our home.  We have a better place coming where our God cannot be up for election and he cannot be impeached.

God bless,

Teresa
