John 8:12

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Hello Altered Stories Family,

As I write, my husband and I are coming off a two-week trip where we spoke at a podcasting conference and then went to Missouri. Needless to say, my body feels like it has been run over by a truck and then some.

That said, during this trip, I saw many tests of my faith, as well as the hand of God. And this brings to mind, what happens when everything that can go wrong does in fact go wrong?  We know God has things in His hands, but what happens when what you see doesn’t seem to line up with what you believe?

In those moments, how should you respond?

Do you just bite the bullet and take what comes?

Do you rage at God because He doesn’t seem to be acting on your time clock?

I will be honest, in the past two weeks, I have fallen into both modes of operating. Yet, the one thing I have seen is that no matter what, God is still on the throne and He is in control. No, sometimes it doesn’t seem like this is the case, but it is true nonetheless.

God doesn’t mind if you get upset, after all, he knows we are human and we have feelings. However, in the end, it comes down to this, do you trust him?  Do you trust that he has a plan, and he will carry it out?  This is what matters, and believe me, it is hard to wrestle with when you are right in the middle of a storm. God is faithful and He is sovereign.

In the end, it comes down to this, “God your will, not mine be done.”

I hope you keep this in mind when you next face a test.

God bless,

Teresa
