John 8:12

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Hello, Altered Stories Ministry Family,

This weekend, we celebrate Memorial Day, which is a day to remember our fallen soldiers.  If you have someone in your family who has served and given their life for their country, do know that they are not forgotten and their sacrifice has not been left on the dust bin of history.

For me, I come from a military family.

The day that it hit home and the cost for my freedom, was the day I went to the Vietnam Memorial.  That day I had gone on a trip with my school, and I was blind folded to go through this exhibit.   I remember running my hand across the start of all the names and bending down to feel them as the list grew.   I remember thinking these are men that died, so I could be free. I don’t know that I took in everything that meant as there were so many names and more than I could count. I remember feeling so overwhelmed, and grateful to God for the place I live now.

So, while you may be enjoying some time with your family, cooking a meal on the grill, or doing something else to celebrate this day.  Please take a moment and say a prayer for the families who have lost someone on the front lines and remember those who fought and died so you could be free.

God bless,

Teresa
