Marie is a media professional, author and single mom of a daughter, and is passionate about sharing her faith journey. In our authentic conversation, she shares her “God Saved My Life through Intentional Journaling” God Story about how intentional journaling helped her deepen her relationship with God after finding herself as a divorced single mom at the height of the pandemic battling crushing debt, and legal chaos as a result of a 16 year failed marriage. She also shares how as the only one to care for her learning disabled daughter she was forced to leave a six figure career and downsize her life and start over. In closing, she encourages others to establish intentional journaling as a spiritual practice to strengthen their relationship with God and help them overcome their struggles.

Video Version

In This Episode:

  • J. Marie is a media professional, author, and single mom of a daughter, and she is passionate about sharing her faith journey.
  • It is important for women to share their stories because when we begin to go through hard times, for some reason, we think it is only us. When we see other people sharing their stories, it begins to change our perspective. We see God’s hand moving.
  • When God tells you what he wants you to do, you then have to ask him, how do you want me to do it? And then you need to find out when do you want me to do it.
  • J. Marie shares her “God Saved My Life Through Intentional Journaling” God story.
  • When anything ends, you have to deal with the chaos and disruption of that thing ending, whether it is a project, a business relationship, or even a marriage.
  • As you go throughout your day and you feel anxious, say a scripture verse or two.
  • He works in and through us, so He gets the ultimate glory. So that people can see that He is the one that is the power in us and He is the one that is leading and guiding us. When we really surrender ourselves, that is when He is able at full capacity to work in and through us not just for our good and not just for His glory but for the good of all those, He blesses us to encounter.
  • There is a difference between just journaling to vent and journaling with an intention that’s pointed towards your future.
  • Despite the positive thoughts, the vision, and dreams you might have, other things will be happening in your life. You are going to have to make a decision of which one to focus on.
  • When you continue to write and speak about the things that are happening well, you start to see more of that.
  • The victory with God is not just about a particular destination. It is also about the progression of change.
  • The traumas that you have been through are not for nothing. If God allowed you to go through it then He allowed it for a purpose and the purpose is not for you to stay there. It is for you to go forward and use it as a platform for everything he is calling you to. Not just for the benefit of yourself but for the benefit of so many other people.
