We are deep in the throes of the Holiday season! We are about to celebrate Christ’s birth. Whether you celebrate Christmas or observe Hanukkah, we say, “Yes, the Great Light has come.”
I want to highlight something that you may not know about our Lord. Did you know that when Yeshua (Jesus) said in John 8:12, “I am the light of the world,” He made this declaration during the feast of dedication, otherwise known as “Hanukkah?” Yeshua was saying that no matter how dark things are in this time, He is the light of the world. He continued by saying, “If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life” (NLT).
Christmas celebrates Christ’s birth and also acknowledges that the great light has come into the world.
This past weekend, there was a horrible mass shooting at Bondi Beach in Australia, where literally the first day of Hanukkah in the world is celebrated. Please pray for the families that lost loved ones and the people who were injured.
Perhaps you are alone for the season or dealing with a family hardship of your own, or you are overwhelmed with the demands of life. To find hope, look to the light of the world, Jesus.
God bless,
Teresa
