…Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning;
Great is Your faithfulness.

In This Episode:

  • Jodie Niznik is a wife, mom of two adult daughters, graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, and helps people create space for God in their lives through her scripture meditation podcast.
  • Jodie’s name in Hebrew means “praise.” There is no one that deserves praise more than our creator.
  • She worked on a pastoral team at a very large church in the Dallas area for twelve years. Just recently the Lord led her away from that to doing things with him on her own.
  • Her daughters are getting married this summer six weeks apart.
  • It is incredibly encouraging to hear what God is doing in other people’s lives.
  • Jodie shares her “Discovering Grace & Learning to Live in Freedom” God Story.
  • Her God story begins with her at thirteen years old. She was raised in a non-Christian home but it was a very good home.
  • She went to an all-girls summer camp and heard the gospel for the first time. As soon as she heard about Jesus she knew that she wanted a relationship with him.
  • When she went away to college she really started to invest in her relationship with God and started to learn more about him.
  • As soon as she started to see the truths of who God was, it brought freedom. Jesus died for our past, present, and future sins.
  • The fullest of life is found in our obedience to God.
  • Ephesians 2:8-9 is a verse that Jodie leans on. It is by grace that we have been saved through faith. It is a gift with no expectation of anything in return.
  • None of us are good enough and thankfully we don’t have to be because our God is good enough.
  • We all bring father baggage into our relationships with God because we are raised by imperfect fathers.
  • We struggle to understand the freely given grace because nothing else in our world operates that way.
  • When you come into a saving relationship with God you are held safely in his hands and nothing can change that.
  • We all need to extend grace to others.
  • Shame is believing that since you did a terrible thing you are a terrible person. That is the voice of the enemy. When we break those shackles of shame we can move into a place of conviction.
  • We have to be in God’s word. Let the words of scripture wash over your heart. Start telling truth to the enemy’s lies.
