In this Episode, I interview special Kingdom Rockstar guest from the KC area, Karen Blankenship. Karen is an author of 3 books, a speaker and teacher. She has been involved in education both nationally and internationally for over 45 years. She is the Founder of KB Speaks and has served her community, both as a volunteer and an elected city official. Karen is also a wife of 43 years, Mom of 3 wonderful kids, Daughter-in-Law and Son-in-Law, and four grandchildren. Karen also serves as the Next Steps Director at her church and the Saturate KC Networks Director for The Sending Project. In our authentic conversation, Karen shares her God Story of her leadership journey in the church and how God confirmed her leadership through scriptures as she read about other Women leaders in the Bible, and also through a Pastor. She also shares how God used her learnings to write a book to share her leadership discovery story to encourage other women in their leadership calling in the church. In addition, Karen shares what she has learned about several other Women leaders in the Bible.

One way I can share my testimony is by sharing my story. We can connect and share our stories to help each other.
Karen shares her Karen’s “What No one Ever Told Me..8 Things I Discovered about Women and Leadership” God Story. It began when she was a little girl and her mom would tell her that she was going to be a leader someday.
She accepted Jesus when she was six years old and grew up in the church.
She ran for her local city council and was part of the local city council for ten years.
She began a two-year study of the women of the Bible after encouragement from her pastor and that led to her writing a book, What No One Ever Told Me: 8 Incredible Things I Discovered About Women and Leadership.
There are a lot of women in the Bible in leadership roles. Karen shares many stories of the different women in the Bible.
There are two viewpoints of women. We are all on the same team. We have to search the scriptures ourselves and come up with what God is saying to us.
She was excited because she felt called to lead in the church and ministry.
Karen shares about a woman in the Bible named Junia that is unknown to many.
Everybody is called to different things. If we are going to serve as leaders we have to ask God to help us control our emotions and pray and ask God to lead us.
God wants us to be humble and seek his leading. You have to do whatever God has called you to.
God has blessed people with a special gift so use your gift well for what God has called us to do.
