Episode 145
You are listening on libsyn, now
In This Episode:
- Lona is the Board VP for Found & Woven in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, and a real estate agent.
- We need to tell our stories, so others understand we are not alone.
- She didn’t have any former indoctrination, so she came to the Lord as a little child even though she was 33 years old when she came to Christ.
- Lona shares her “From Darkness to Destiny” God story.
- It felt like everywhere she went from the age of five all the way into her adulthood, things were happening to her that she had no control over by so many men in her life that it became quite normal.
- Her drinking and drug use started shortly after the first abortion. She ran from one situation to another out of fear, shame, and guilt. It was a dark place, and she was just surviving.
- In 2011, she hit rock bottom. She was homeless and had lost her job. Her dad started taking her to a church.
- Twenty years later, she now has three children from her husband.
- There is a lost generation out here so now I am back out in the mission field as a real estate agent.
- The enemy’s power is destroyed when we have a safe place for people to talk about these things. It is so important for us to be honest and open.
- Just be honest and open with God about your pain. He wants you to come to him like you want your children to come to you.
- No one is too lost or too broken. He is chasing after you. Just stop and let him catch you.
