John 8:12

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Hello, Altered Stories Family,

As we approach the joyous celebrations of Christmas and Hanukkah, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on the profound hope we are celebrating.

Consider this: before that little baby entered the world, we were lost—buried deep in the depths of our sin, with no way out. The Bible tells us clearly in Romans 3:23, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” It goes on to say, “There is no one righteous, not even one.” (Romans 3:10)

But everything changed on that holy night when a baby was born in Bethlehem. On that night, hope entered the world. Jesus, fully God and fully man, began His earthly life among us.

He lived the life we could never live—a life of complete perfection—and then He died the death we deserved on a rugged Roman cross. Through His sacrifice, He made a way for us to be reconciled to God.

I write this as a gentle reminder: while you’re enjoying festive meals, parties, gift-giving, and all the joys of this season, don’t lose sight of the reason we celebrate.

During this time, we acknowledge Him as the Hope of the World. In Hanukkah, we acknowledge Him as the Light of the World. In all things, we are reminded that He is our Savior and Lord.

Until next time,

Teresa
