John 8:12

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Hello, Altered Stories Ministry Family,

On Monday of this week, we celebrated Presidents’ Day. This day is originally George Washington’s birthday. However, it was expanded to include President Lincoln and others.

Yet, why does this even matter. Why spend mental energy on it?

Because many of our Presidents were men of God. Many of them expressed faith in our Lord.

President Lincon often called for days of prayer and fasting, particularly during the civil war. John Adams said that “the constitution was made for only a moral and religious people.”

Ronald Reagan, referred to America as one nation under God.

As followers of Christ, we know that if a good king rules the people rejoice, if a bad king rules, the people mourn. Proverbs 29:2

So, lets reflect on the place we are at in our country and pray for our national leadership, that they would do only what God commands.

We are called to pray for our leaders 1 Timothy 2:1-2 (NLT) “I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.”

I hope this article is helpful in bringing to light what can sometimes be an obscure holiday.

God bless,

Teresa
