In my Part Three Episode: Women Around the World Series, I interview special guest, Rooks Moodley. Rooks is from South Africa and lives in the Limpopo province with her husband, who are pastoral counselors. She is a development specialist, human development practitioner, social justice activist, motivational speaker, community builder and has 33 years of Nonprofit experience. In our authentic conversation, Rooks shares her powerful “Created for Purpose not Comfort” God story of her infertility and cancer survival journey. She also shares inspiring words from scripture to encourage others who are walking through their own journeys of infertility and cancer recovery.

Grace flows through piercings. The purpose that God allows us to go through these storms is so that we can tell God’s story so that other women can also feel comforted that they are not alone and it can be an encouragement to them to hold on and never give up.

After five years of marriage, she was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome. She was told about the possibility that it would be impossible to have children.
If you are unable to have children and if it is a medical condition, it is not your fault and you should not feel any less valued or blame yourself for something that is beyond your control.
The second part of her journey started in March 2016 when she was diagnosed with an overactive thyroid. In January 2020 she had an operation and 90% of her thyroid was removed. She was confirmed to have thyroid cancer but it didn’t grow or spread anywhere else.
