Hello, Altered Stories Family,
As you know, we are coming to the end of Summer and as it is sometimes called, the dog days of Summer. This had me thinking, what is next?
Here’s what I mean, spiritually speaking. You come to Christ, you accept his death on the cross for your sin, but what happens then?
Many times, people get kind of lost in the shuffle because of a lack of training and discipleship. But I believe what should happen, is that you start to learn how to walk as a child of God. You begin to learn that you have been transferred from darkness to the Kingdom of God’s own son, as shared in Colossians 1:13.
Even our Lord talked about this transfer in his ministry. When he began his words were not of being born again, but about the Kingdom of God. He said, “repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Matthew 3:2. Other translations say that the Kingdom is nearby.
The point is this, when you become a follower of Christ, salvation is only the first step. It’s not the end goal. Yes, it is important, but you then need to learn to live as a child of the King, discover what he likes and what he doesn’t like and how to align your life accordingly.
If you haven’t taken that first step and received Christ as Savior and Lord, then now is the best time to do that. The Bible says that we all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. It also says the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
To receive Christ, it is as simple as ABC.
Admit that you are a sinner that is in need of God’s grace and forgiveness.
Believe that God is who he says he is and has done what he said he would do. Believe that Jesus is both God and man and that he died on the cross for yours sin and rose on the third day. Believe that he is going to return in bodily form to the earth to reestablish his Kingdom on the earth.
Confess him as your Savior and your Lord.
If you have done this, congratulations! You now have taken the first steps to walking in the Kingdom of light and you get the joy of learning what it means to be a child of the King.
I hope this has helped you. if you have made this choice we would love to hear about it.
God bless,
Teresa
