give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV

The Spin Cycle by Teresa Blaes

That moment when all you want to do is scream.

And all your emotions are NOTHING more than thread-bare strings.

They bleed you of everything you had to give.

Then left you weeping on the floor.

Yet still, they demanded more.

And all you can do is cry out to him.

At some point this has to stop! Can’t you see I’m at my wits end?

You cry, with tears in your eyes, looking to Heaven for some sort of sign.

Be still and know that he is God.

In the silence you will step off,

The Spin Cycle.

Hello, Altered Stories Family,

This month, I want to talk about how we think and talk about the spin cycles that we take part in, either willfully or not.

Sometimes, the things of life, can feel like a never ending spin cycle that you can’t break free from, but thanks to God, we don’t have to be subject to it, whether it is our Sin, or it is drama that keeps building in and around us, if we take some time to remember that God is there, and he is above it all, then we will find that he helps us get out of the cycle.

The scripture is clear, be still and know that he is God. Psalm 46:10, NLT

This means we must quiet our hearts and our minds, and listen for his voice, and his direction. Sometimes, this is the hardest thing to do. Sometimes, your mind is so clouded with the fog of war, it’s like thinking or listening through mud. This is where we have to press into him, until we are able to come away with an answer.

Know this, God will answer you. It may not be in the timeframe you expect, but as you develop a stronger relationship with him and get to know him. You will find the answer that you are seeking.  Remember Matthew 7:7 NIV “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.”

God bless,

Teresa
