Hello, Altered Stories Family,
We are living in a time where there are wars and rumors of wars. At any given point, we hear of conflict and things that could make one fear, but our Lord said when you see these things, we are not to fear. We are to look up because our redemption is near.
It is this redemption that I wish to speak of.
In John 3, we see a Rabbi coming to the Lord by night. He tells the Lord “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” John 3:2 Jesus told him he had to be born again. Nicodemus was confused, because In Jewish teaching they knew about being born again and they believed that one had to become Jewish to be born again. So, when he asked Jesus about this, it was with this understanding in mind, not out of doubt. Jesus explained about being born again of the spirit. I don’t believe he was rebuking this Rabbi, but he was shifting his understanding of what it means to be born again.
Now, we have this very famous meeting recorded in the scriptures. We also have the Lord offering an invitation to everyone that if they want, they can be born again of the Spirit of God.
How is this done?
It is as simple as A B C.
Admit that you are a sinner, in need of saving and that you cannot do it on your own.
Believe that God sent his son Jesus Christ into the world to die for our Sin and be raised from the death. He returned to Heaven and will come again in bodily form.
Confess that Jesus is your Lord and Savior because in Romans it says that if we confess with our mouth and believe in our heart that Jesus is Lord, we will be saved.
Our Lord explained it best, when he said that “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16
If you have made this choice to believe, then congrats as you are now a child of God. We would, of course, love to hear from you!
Now that you are a Christian, you can rest assured that no matter what happens; what wars happen, what violence takes place, no matter how much the world goes nuts, your eternity is taken care of. This is the hope that we as believers have in trying times.
God bless,
Teresa
