John 8:12

Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

Hello Altered Stories Family,

Let me set the stage for a moment. You are fast asleep, and your husband comes in, waking you up with bad news. Not just the ordinary kind, but the kind of news that twists your gut. One of your dear friends has taken their last breath here on earth, and taken their first breath in eternity.  Worse, you do not know if they accepted Christ as Lord and Savior.

This recently happened to me within this last week. And this loss has prompted what I want to tell you about today.

I found myself grieving, but not only for the loss of a friend, but that to my knowledge they had not received our Lord, and they might have chosen to face God on their own merit.

The only solace that I had, was that my husband and I did all we could to explain the Gospel to our friend. Yet her loss hit me hard, and I was reminded that no matter what you are doing, we all have a mission, to reach out to the lost, and the hurting, and offer them the hope we have, the only hope we have in Jesus Christ.

I even took the time to go on to my podcast and express my grief. I explained what had happened, and then I explained the gospel for anyone who might be listening.  The Gospel is very simple, but very few are willing to accept it, believing in Christ.

So what does this mean for you?

If you are reading this, and you are a follower of Christ then let this serve as a reminder, that our mission, our goal is to seek out and reach the lost!

If you are reading this, and you are not a believer, then let me plead with you, please consider the claims of Christ. He is the Son of God, and fully human. He died for our Sins, and was raised from the dead, and will come back again to judge everyone.

It doesn’t matter what religion you are, Jewish, Muslim, Hindu, all of them outside of Christ, are nothing short of good works, attempting to get to God.  The only way to get to God, is through the shed blood of his son, “Yeshua” Jesus.

I would rather stand before him covered by his blood, for my Sins, than alone in my own merit.

My prayer, and my hope is that you my friend can say the same. If you can’t, then today is a good day to make that exchange, His death for your Sin. His death for your life.

If you are reading this and would like to follow him, you can pray something like this.

“Dear Lord, I know I am a Sinner, and that I can’t get to Heaven on my own. I accept what your Son Jesus Christ did for me, I accept his death on the cross for my sin, and I believe he rose again. I believe that he will return to judge the world,  And I give my life over, to serve him for the rest of my days. Thank you Lord for what you did, thank you for saving me.”

If you prayed that prayer, the Bible says that you are a child of God, and that your eternity is secure in him.

Please let us know if you did pray that prayer.  We at Altered Stories Ministry would love to hear about it, and encourage you in your next steps.

God bless,
Teresa
